John Michael Hagerty

John Michael Hagerty is an Associate at The Brattle Group with experience in electricity wholesale market design, transmission planning, renewable and climate policy analysis, and strategic planning for utility companies. At Brattle, Michael has worked with regional transmission organizations (RTOs) across the U.S., including NYISO, ISO-NE, PJM and ERCOT, in wholesale electricity market design and long-term transmission planning. Michael has also completed analysis for state agencies, utilities, and trade associations on the outlook and challenges of increasing renewable generation, the potential for the Clean Power Plan to impact reliability, and the GHG market in California under AB32. Prior to Brattle, Michael worked for Honeywell commissioning and operating oil refinery process unit and participated in research projects across the energy industry as a research assistant at the MIT Energy Initiative. Mr. Hagerty holds a B.S in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana and an M.S. in Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
