Rachel Novick

Rachel Novick is the Director of the Minor in Sustainability and a special professional faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. She has over 5 years' experience in developing sustainability curricular materials and leading organizational sustainability initiatives. Novick served as the Education and Outreach Coordinator in Notre Dame's Office of Sustainability before joining the College of Science. Her research interests focus on sustainability education at the K-12 and university levels, solutions to the challenges facing sustainability initiatives in local and regional communities, and the intersections between sustainability and social justice, theology, and public health. Novick received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Cornell University. She holds a master’s degree in forestry and environmental studies and a doctorate in ecology and evolution from Yale University. Novick is also a LEED Accredited Professional in new construction and major renovations.
